Wanda Messex Inglett, 65, entered the gates of Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. She worked at Waynesboro Elementary and Waynesboro Primary School for 21 years, where she was the crossing guard and ran a computer lab. She enjoyed working with her students and felt that from 7:30am to 3:30pm that the students were hers. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Johnny Mitchell "Micky" Inglett; her mother and father, Shirley Davis Messex and Henry Barnes; her biological father, Rufus Messex, Sr.; and a brother, Walter Messex.
She is survived by two daughters, Jessica Inglett Chavez (Juan) and Christy Inglett Phillips (Jeff) both of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren, Dalton Hunter, Millie Chavez, Blaze Inglett, Macee Phillips, Alden Phillips, Jeffrey Phillips, Jr. (Brittany), and Joshua Phillips (Megan); five great grandchildren, Lainee Flakes, Parker Phillips, Mila Phillips, Grayson Phillips and Easton Phillips; her family-in-love, Rick Inglett (Freeda), Earl Inglett, and Sandra Messex; four siblings, Rufus Messex, Jr. (Pam), William Lee Messex (Andrea), Candy Messex, and David Barnes; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Elizabeth Quick, Brandon Wright, Kaylin Kurtz, Marolyn Odom, Warren Pittman, Smokey Thames, and Jackie Daniels.
The family will receive friends from 2:00pm -3:00pm Sunday, January 3 at Burke Memorial Gardens with the Graveside Service starting at 3:00pm with Sandra Johnson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made Botsford Baptist Church c/o the Awana Program or Old Fella Rescue.
