Waynesboro, GA. - Glenn Marvin Judy, 84, entered into rest at his residence on Saturday, September 1, 2012 with his loving wife of 61 years and family at his side.
Having endured a long and courageous battle with cancer, Mr. Judy is now peacefully with his Lord and Savior. His cheerful, quiet and unassuming way will be missed by all who knew him. He was born in Richmond, KY on Feb. 21, 1928. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Eastern Kentucky State College. Mr. Judy served four years in the Army stationed in Korea. He and his family moved to Waynesboro in the late 50's along with his parents. Glenn and his father, Ray H. Judy, owned and operated a prominent and successful dairy farm which earned many prestigious awards. He was a retired manager from Brown Transport Company.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Beulah Judy, and his youngest daughter, Donna Judy Bradshaw.
Mr. Judy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Betty Gullett Judy, a son, David R. Judy (Connie) of Martinez, GA, a daughter, Deborah F. Gower (Buster) of Roswell, GA, grandchildren, Lindsay Judy (Matthew), Jonathan Judy (Becky), Kelly Gower Demestihas (Alex), Jessica Rodrigues (Ruben), and great grandchildren, Ethan O'Berry and Alyssa Jamison. The oldest of five children, Mr. Judy is survived by two sisters, Doris Jean Hale, of Huntington, Ind., Wilma Leonard, of Kennesaw, GA., two brothers, Dr. James C. Judy, of Savannah, GA., and Dr. Larry W. Judy, of Dallas, GA.
He was a faithful member of Burkehaven Chapel for more than 60 years, and a trustee of the Chapel and Burkehaven Christian School.
Visitation: Monday, Sept. 3 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 11am at the funeral home. James Gay and Gary Morgan will officiate. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Talmadge Burke, William Gower, Jesse Perry, Josh Clayton, Matthew Robbins, Alex Demestihas, and Jack Perry.
