Francis L. Ford, 89, entered into rest Tuesday, August 2, 2022. He was a native of Camden, NJ and has been a resident of Burke County since 1995. He served for 67 years as a United Methodist Minister, serving churches in both the North GA Conference and the South GA Conference. He loved trivia and building model cars. Francis was a member of the North GA Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and USS Hector Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Julian Baxter Ford, Sr.; a daughter, Anita Carol Ford; and a brother, Julian Baxter Ford, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Elizabeth Ford; two sons, Alan Baxter Ford ( Ellen) of Jacksonville, FL and Wesley Ford (Robin) of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Andrew Baxter Ford (Mary) of Seven Valleys, PA, Tyler Nathaniel Ford (John) of Jacksonville, FL, Benjamin Ford of Waynesboro, and Libby Ford of Waynesboro; two great granddaughters, Evee and Lena Ford both of Seven Valleys, PA; beloved cat, Tiger; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Thursday, August 4 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Friday, August 5 at Blythe United Methodist Church with Rev. Thurman Norville officiating. Burial will be held 11:00am Saturday, August 6 at Century Nelson United Methodist Church Cemetery in Meansville, GA.
Active Pallbearers will be Andy Ford, Tyler Ford, Benjamin Ford, Scott Gay, Bob Dorrill, and John Dorrill.
Honorary Pallbearers will be United Methodist Pastor’s and their spouses of the North and South GA Conference.
Remembrances may be made to the Murphy Harpst Children's Home or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
