Girard, GA – Mrs. Eunice Mallard Smith, age 90, entered into rest Monday, October 12, 2015. She was born in Girard on April 19, 1925, to the late Thomas Jefferson Mallard and the late Lillie Mae Campbell Mallard. She was a graduate of Berry College in Rome, GA. Eunice was retired as a director from DFCS and was a lifelong member of Bethany United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Thomas "Tom" William Smith; a son, Walter Mallard Smith; and two brothers, Warren and Douglas Mallard.

She is survived by a daughter, Mildred Ann Smith of Elberton, GA; two sisters, Kathryn Hunter of Savannah, GA and Ollie Scoggins of Summerville, GA; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 14 at DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Mrs. Dorma Perry. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, October 15 at the chapel of DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home. Dr. David Perry will officiate. The burial will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bob Mallard, Charles Mallard, Joey Smith, Lee Miller and Mitchell Goff.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany UMC, c/o Glenda Manley 464 Heath Rd, Girard, GA 30426 or to Berry College, 2277 Martha Berry Hwy NW, Mount Berry, GA 30149.
