W.R. "Rudy" Glisson, Jr.
October 8, 1951 — September 8, 2015
He graduated from Waynesboro High School in 1969 and he graduated with a BBA from the University of Georgia in 1973. Rudy was involved in various parts of the medical industry until his retirement and enjoyed following UGA football.
He was a son of the late W.R. Glisson, Sr. and Virginia Blount Glisson.
Survivors include a son, William Allen Glisson of Atlanta; two sisters, Jan Glisson Eubanks ofValdosta; and Ginny Glisson Brooks of Madison; a brother, Lawson Glisson of Waynesboro; nephew, Joel Eubanks of Valdosta; niece, Heather Thompson of Columbus, IN; and nephew, R.J. Brooks of Newborn, GA.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at the Chapel of DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home. Dr. G. Al Wright, Jr. will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Black, Hugh McCauley, Roland Daniel, Chip Barefield,
Danny Delaigle, Stan Jenkins, Phillip Blanchard, Brad Layer, Bob Bumgardner, Andy
Bumgardner, Lawton Tinley,and Mike Judge.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Georgia Football Support Fund. Please make checks payable to The University of Georgia Foundation and in the memo line reference "Football Support Fund in memory of Rudy Glisson".
