Waynesboro, GA-William Roger "Froggie" Whitener, 61, husband of Judy Kay Page Whitener, entered into rest Saturday, May 10, 2014 in Kandahar, Afghanistan, where he was currently working. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, and fishing. He was a son of Christy Bell Chavous Whitener of Augusta, GA and the late John Whitener, Sr.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one son, Clay Whitener; four step-daughters, Danelia Eder, Lisa Watts (Rick), Amanda Templeton (Lewis), Brandi Josey (Daniel); two sisters, Wanda Evans (Keith) and Jan Brickman (Mike); one brother, John Whitener, Jr. (Susan); seven grandchildren, Lee Ann Whitener, Bryson Brown, Jackson Hendley, Cody and Gage Templeton, Megan Phillips, and Emily Campbell;and a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, great nieces, and great nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday, May 16 at the funeral home. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am Saturday, May 17 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Lewis Templeton, Daniel Josey, Rick Watts, Jimmy Trull, Casey Wilds, and Josh Phillips.
