William Darrell Murphy

August 19, 1947 — June 19, 2012

Waynesboro, Ga. - William Darrell Murphy, "Mr. Bill", "Papa", 64, entered into rest on Monday, June 18, 2012. He was born August 19, 1947, to the late Jack and Eva Murphy in St. Charles, VA in Benedict Coal County. He married Mary Bingham in 1977. Mr. Bill was a Vietnam veteran, coal miner, and a lifetime member of the VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter; a great granddaughter; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Murphy; 2 daughters, Nancy Murphy of Waynesboro, GA, and Shawna McDaniel (Tim) of Rincon, GA; 1 son, Clyde Bingham of Price, UT; 7 granddaughters; 1 grandson ; 1 great granddaughter; 3 sisters, Jerry Sue Baker of Big Stone Gap, VA, Marilyn Smith (Harold) of Pennington, VA, and Becky Woodard (Howdy) of Keokee, VA; 2 brothers, Harry Murphy (Edith), and Bub Murphy both of St. Charles, VA. A host of other relatives and friends also survive.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 20 from 6:00pm -8:00pm at the funeral home.

The burial will be private.
