Sardis, GA - William Robert Hillis, 85, entered into rest Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at his home.He was born on September 28, 1923 to the late Robert L. and Minnie Ward Hillis.Mr. Hillis retired as a carpenter for Charlie Waters.He was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy.He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Drake Hillis.

He is survived by his son, Terry Hillis of Sardis, GA; three grandchildren, Bob Hillis, Lynn H. Finley, and John Finley; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Cannon of Waynesboro, GA.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2008, at St. Marks Methodist Church Cemetery in Sardis, GA with Rev. Steve Sirmons officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service at the home of Terry Hillis (1406 Old Sardis Road, Sardis, GA.).
