William "Evans" Crockett, Jr.

April 6, 1931 — October 6, 2020

William "Evans" Crockett, Jr., 89, entered into rest Tuesday, October 6, 2020. He was a native and lifelong resident of Burke County. He graduated from UGA with a degree in Agricultural Engineering. He started out as a shop foreman for Burke Truck and Tractor and later became the president of the business until he decided to pursue a career in farming. Evans was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of the NRA, American Legion Post 120, and Greens Cut United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Evans and Annie Laurie McNorrill Crockett; and his brother, Robert Wayne Crockett.

He is survived by his wife, Johnie Crockett; two sons, William E. Crockett III (Kerry) of Grovetown and Robert Edgar Crockett (Randi) of Waynesboro; a sister, Grace Quick of Waynesboro; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held 11:00am Friday, October 9 at Burke Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jerry Sharpe.

Remembrances may be made to Greens Cut United Methodist Church.
