William Ray Chandler, 94, entered into rest Thursday, February 22, 2024. He was a native and lifelong resident of Burke County. He was a retired farmer, who loved working cows and planting and tending to his garden. He enjoyed fishing and working. Ray was a member of the Sardis Methodist Church and a former member of the Farm Service Agency.
He is survived by his wife Kathryn M. Chandler; three children, Mike Chandler (Jan) of Sardis, Kathy Graham (Nelms) of Waynesboro, and Randy Chandler (Patricia) of Sardis; two step-children, Jennifer Dreyer (Doug) and Richard Harper both of Newnan; nine grandchildren, Josh Chandler, Megan Forehand, Jessi Elliott, Emily Graham, Jacob Chandler, Haley Hall, Sealy Dreyer, Ella Kate Harper, and Jaxton Harper; seven great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Patricia Chandler of Girard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Saturday, February 24 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held 3:00pm Sunday, February 25 at Sardis Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Sardis Baptist Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Josh Chandler, Jacob Chandler, Clint Forehand, Hunter Elliott, Jonathan Hall, Ryan Mobley, and Evan Mobley.
Remembrances may be made to the Sardis Methodist Church.
