Midville, GA- William "Bill" A. Smith, 72, entered into rest Friday, October 16, 2015, at University Hospital after a brief illness.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired as a structural steel draftsman and co-owner of Gwinnett Steel Detailers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Phyllis Gladden Smith; two children, Charlotte Walden (Clay) and Allen Smith (Lori) both of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren, Cameron Walden, Brittany Duncan (John), Kayla Smith (Rhett), Rebekah Smith, Chloe Smith, Olivia Wade (Will), and Kristal Ramirez all of Waynesboro; three great grandchildren, Marla and Beckam Ramirez, and Wyatt Wade all of Waynesboro; two sisters, Wilma Gladden of Nags Head, N.C., and Lora Biron of Virginia Beach, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Monday, October 19 at the funeral home. Graveside Services will be held 11 am Tuesday, October 20 at Burke Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bobby "Butch" Taylor, Jr. officiating.
Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, or American Heart Association, or National Kidney Foundation.
