Sardis-William "Bill" Elliott 55, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at University Hospital.
Bill was a native and lifelong resident of Burke County and was a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church. He was retired from Savannah River Site after 30 years of service. He was a 1978 graduate from Evans High School and attended Augusta College where he played baseball and was named All American in 1982. Bill was avid golfer, Georgia Bulldog fan, loved being in the outdoors hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Handy Branch Hunting Club.
Surviving are, his son, Matthew R. Elliott of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, his mother, Bernice Reid of Augusta, his sisters, Carol Roberts and her husband Teddy of Augusta and Pamela Elliott of Panama Beach, Fl.; his granddaughter, Kayleigh Elliott of Augusta and numerous, nieces, nephew, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Funeral Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the Sardis United Methodist Church with the Reverend Steve Sirmons and Reverend Janet Odegarrd officiating. Burial will follow in the Saint Marks Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Active Pallbearers will be Herbie Elliott, Ricky Elliott, Alan Stokes, Norman Elliott and Charlie Delaigle.
