Augusta, GA - Wilbur "Pee Wee" Durrance, 61, husband of Vermell Durrance, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Heartland Hospice in Augusta, GA.He was born on September 17, 1947 in Richmond County to the late Wilbur Mathis Durrance, Sr. and Juanita G. Johnson.He was employed by Comfort Inn as a motel clerk and was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.He was an avid gardener and loved flowers.He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Maudie Green and Sherry Durrance.
He is survived by his wife, Vermell; and two brothers, Bobby Powell (Nannette) and Bernard Powell (Sadie).He, also, left to cherish his memory many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.Thanks to the University Hospital Oncology Staff, Dr. Lumbaugh, Dr. Kaldas and her staff, and to the staff at Heartland Hospice, and for the support of all his family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2009, at DeLoach Funeral Home, Hephzibah.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Turner and Chaplain Pam Thomas officiating.Interment will be at the church cemetery.
