Virginia G. Kitchens

Virginia G. Kitchens, 81, entered into rest on Monday, July 17, 2023. She was born in Bayard, New Mexico to the late Rosalio Gonzales and Theodora Rodriguez Gonzales and was the youngest of 13 children. She married her husband of 60 years, Bill Kitchens, on April 20, 1963, in Fort Bliss, Texas. She was a retired 911 operator with Burke EMA. Virginia was an avid fan of her Dallas Cowboys and Georgia Bulldogs football. She was of Christian faith. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family and was incredibly proud of her grandchildren. She had the biggest heart and took many people into her home when needed over the years. She was known as Ma to so many people. She had an infectious smile and laugh, always making you feel you better when you were around her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her oldest grandson, Joey Kitchens; her brothers, Alfred Gonzales, Robert Gonzales, Lino Gonzales, Juan Gonzales, Leo Gonzales, Lencho Gonzales, Benny Gonzales; two sisters, Sara Weddle and Rebecca Borunda; and three siblings who passed in infancy.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her four children, David Kitchens (Teresa) Grovetown, Billy Kitchens (Tamera) Waynesboro, Debra Hutcheson (Troy) Waynesboro and Nichole Hammock (Robbie) Waynesboro; seven

Grandchildren, Samantha Kitchens, Matthew Kitchens (Stacey), Miranda Kitchens, Ashton Kitchens, Kanon Daniel, Nan Daniel, and Emily Hammock; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held 3:00pm Saturday, July 22 in the funeral home Chapel with Pastor Pat Dye officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
