Venecia Kersey Hayes

June 6, 1925 — October 31, 2020

Venecia Kersey Hayes, 95, entered into eternal rest on Saturday October 31, 2020. She was born on June 6, 1925, in Swainsboro, Georgia, to the late Tom and Bertha Gooding Kersey. Venecia was a very kind and gentle person. She was a caretaker to many people, and she loved animals. She worked many years for King's Mill. Venecia was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother, and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by all nine of her siblings.

Surviving are her daughter, Peggy Rowell (Edward) of Hephzibah; son, Jeff Hayes (Anna) of Waynesboro; granddaughters, Mandy Rowell of Lawrenceville, GA, Jessica Hayes of Waynesboro, and Jhenna Smith (Josh) of Ft. Bragg, NC; grandsons, Jason Rowell (Nicole) of Grovetown, and Nikolas Hayes of Waynesboro; great-grandchildren, Dustin Rowell, Anslee Rowell, Hailee Williams, Aiden Shelton, Liam Shelton, and Arianna Smith.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at the New Hope Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Swainsboro. The Reverend Russell Folger will officiate.
