Velna Radcliff Glisson

December 10, 1931 — June 29, 2018

Velna Radcliff Glisson, 86 went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday June 29, 2018. She was a lifelong resident of Burke County, a member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She retired from the Burke County Library after more than 25 years. She had a great love for books, was an amazing storyteller and had a passion for serving her community as librarian.
She was preceded in death by her parents, TG and Fannie Radcliff, her sister, Vera Q. Howard and her brother, Everett Radcliff.
Surviving are her children, Sharon G. Kennedy and Eddie Glisson (Debra), her brother, Thomas Radcliff, her sister, Emogene Horton; her grandchildren, Craig W. Kennedy, Jr. (Karla), Patrick C. Kennedy (Kristy), Claudia K. Shepherd (Vance), Tabitha G. Morse (Patrick), Ian E. Glisson, Victoria Douglas and Erin Glisson; her great grandchildren, Miles Kennedy, Charlie Kennedy, Winston Kennedy and Wilder Morse.
Graveside Services will be 5 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2018 in the Sardis Baptist Cemetery with Dr. Maxwell Kennedy officiating.
Remembrances may be made to the Friends of Library or First Baptist Church.
