Tracy Dawn Carrington, 70, of Waynesboro, entered into rest on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Pruitt Health in Louisville. She was born on June 7, 1951, in Semi Valley, California, to late Rev. Keith Glendale Carrington and Shirley Carrington.
Tracy not only raised her family but she always had an open door policy for friends of her kids to seek sanctuary when needed. There was rarely a day when the house was not filled with an average of 6 or more teenagers. Later in life, Tracy started devoting time to rescuing animals as her children left the nest. What used to be teenagers everywhere turned into an animal gallery of dogs, cats, fish, hamsters, ferrets, turtles, and a rat. Tracy didn't light up a room when she entered and she didn't want to be everyone's friend; but those who could call her friend knew that she supported them unconditionally. Tracy was a Covid-19 survivor and a fighter to the end; she even donated plasma-antibodies for others to recover.
In addition to her parents, she was met at the gates by her sisters, Leah Renee and Tonya Jo; two grandsons, Austin and Mitchell; and the love of her life, Milton Shields.
Surviving are three daughters, Shannon Stillwell (Dwayne), Sheila Raburn (Bryan), and Starla Flake (Henry); a bonus son, Milton Shields (Bo); two granddaughters, Emile and Anns-Lee; six grandsons, Kristian, Steven, Scottie, Alden, Daniel, and Fields; a brother, Kenneth Carrington; and three sisters, Susan Gatta, Marti ColClause, and Bonnie Wynn-Quinton.
Memorial Services will be held 1:00pm Friday, January 14 in the funeral home chapel.
