He is survived by his companion, Dianne Gregory; daughter, Kim Leonard (Jerry) of Harlem, GA; step-son, Jeff Mobley (Sharon) of Durham, NC; mother, Ruby Barefield of Alexander; three grandchildren, Kaycee Kelligan, Dylan Kelligan, and Jochelle Mobley; four brothers, James Barefield (Susie) of Waynesboro; Ralph Barefield (Lena) of Alexander, Randy Barefield of Sardis, and Tommy Barefield of Alexander; four sisters, Sylvia Moore of Alexander, Mary Godbee of Waynesboro, Susan Thompson of New Braunfels, TX, and Lynn Myers (Billy) of Alexander; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.
The family will receive friends at Mrs. Ruby Barefield's home and also at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service on Saturday.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, at the funeral home.Rev. Wayne Dixon will officiate.Honorary pallbearers will be J. L. Blackburn, Carl Thames, Ronnie Smith, Shannon Presley, Todd Oglesby, Bennie Johnson, Jamey Kolb, and Bill Shaw.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association (706-855-5005) or to the American Stroke Foundation (1-866-549-1776).
