Thomas "Tommy" Franklin Shepard

Thomas “Tommy” Franklin Shepard, 76, entered into rest Monday, November 20, 2023. He was born in Millen and has been a lifelong resident of Sardis. He was a Veteran of the Army and a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church. Tommy retired from the Burke County School System, where he served as a bus driver for Sardis.

He is survived by six daughters, Cassy Lane (Gabe) of Grovetown, Leigh Ewing (Robert) of Hephzibah, Leslie Denney (Dennis) of Martinez, Lori Newman (Kevin) of Martinez, Heather Stokes (Matt) of Lyons, and Blair Merritt (Amos) of Lyons; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Taylor of Millen and Harriett Spangenburg (Jerry) of Byron, GA; a brother, Donnie Shepard of Griffin; and a very special friend, Phyllis Shepard.

Memorial Services will be held 11:30am Wednesday, December 6 at Sardis Methodist Church with Rev. Sonny Moon officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Remembrances may be made to the Sardis Methodist Church.
