Jemisone, AL - Thomas Eugene Joiner, Sr. entered into rest Monday, October 5, 2009, in Alabama.He was born in Burke County, Georgia on July 24, 1944.He moved to Atlanta where he worked for the Norfolk Southern Railroad until he retired.He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Larisey, father, Henry Joiner, and sons, Travis Joiner and Randy Joiner.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Linda Joiner of Jemisone, AL, Thomas, Jr. and Libbie Joiner of Austell, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Courtney and Justin Lomernick of Chickamauga, GA; daughter-in-law, Marcie Joiner of Villa Rica, GA; grandchildren, Haley, Ashley, and Tyler Joiner of Jemisone, AL, Megan and Thomas III Joiner of Austell, GA, Mackenzie Joiner of Villa Rica, GA, Gabrielle Lomernick of Chickamauga, GA; sisters, Bertha Morgan of Waynesboro, GA, Ethel Lark of Millen, GA, Ruby Jo Thomas of Caushatha, AL, Barbara Larisey of Millen, GA, Brenda Parker of Millen, GA, and Beth Sharpe of Millen, GA; brothers, Henry Joiner of Tennille, GA, Larry Joiner of Millen, GA, and Dean Larisey of Millen, GA.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 7, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at DeLoach Funeral Home, Waynesboro.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, October 8, at 11:00 a.m. at Hopeful Baptist Church.Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
