Thomas Steven Edenfield

June 18, 1952 — December 17, 2016

Thomas Steven Edenfield June 18, 1952 – December 17, 2016

Our Tommy, a strong man, a gentle farmer, a gentleman, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday December 17, 2016.

Tommy was born into a farming family, the 3rd of 5 children of Marceline Odom Edenfield and Joseph A. Edenfield. He loved the farming life, the land, those cows, fishing and dove hunting with his son and friends and he loved the Lord, Jesus Christ.

In his 20's, Tommy served 6 years in the National Guard. At 33, he married his love MaryLynn Edenfield and started his own family. He was a steadfast, devoted husband to MaryLynn and father to his son, Will Edenfield.

In the last 4 months of his life, he missed not being able to do some of the things he loved most among them to tend to the farm and go to church where he was a lifelong deacon.

Tommy will be deeply missed by his family and his friends and no doubt he soared to heaven in one of his prized muscle cars.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 31 years, MaryLynn Holley Edenfield, his son, William "Will" Thomas Edenfield of Waynesboro, step-mother Daisy Riggs Edenfield, brothers Joe (Patty) Edenfield, and Robert "Shorty" (Sue) Edenfield, sisters Barbara Jenkins and the late Bobby Jenkins and Jackie Edenfield, aunt Shirley Odom, the Holley's in Atlanta, the Riggs' in Waynesboro and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the funeral home.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, December 22, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Waynesboro with Dr. G. Al Wright, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens.
