Terrance Howard Campbell of Waynesboro, GA, passed away at home on Monday, March 20, 2017. Born in Bay City, Michigan, he was the son of the late Ida and Colin Campbell, moving to Waynesboro with his wife and two daughters in 1964, by the circuitous route of Tampa, FL.
Terry proudly served in the US Army during World War II, retired from the National Guard, and retired professionally from Thermo King, a division of Westinghouse, in Louisville, GA. He was active in various ministries at the First Baptist Church, Waynesboro, GA, and was a volunteer with the AARP Tax Program and Burke County polls for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 67 years, Joyce Teufel Campbell and daughter, Terry Ann. He is survived by his wife, Nina Springer Campbell and two daughters, Gay White of Simpsonville, SC and Terri Washer of Knoxville, TN. Also surviving are grandchildren, Ashley Barfield of Lexington, SC, Nicholas Caputo, Anna Vintson, and Paul Caputo of Augusta, GA, and Michael Caputo of Newport, NC, as well as a host of great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 23, 2017, at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church, Waynesboro, GA, and the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Center For New Beginnings, PO Box 1066, Waynesboro, GA, 30830.
