Tara N. Flake, 47, entered into rest August 6, 2019. She was a native of Statesboro and a lifelong resident of Burke County. She was a graduate of Augusta Tech. Tara was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Lend a Helping Paw Dachshund Rescue, and Long and Short Lounge Dachshund Rescue. She was a Gone With The Wind collector. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Buddy and Evelyn Thompson.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Flake, Jr.; a daughter, Heather Nicole Harkins (Joshua) of Waynesboro; a son, Jesse Dakota Flake of Waynesboro; mother, Betty Thompson Tapley of Waynesboro; a brother, John L. DeLoach, Jr. of Ocala, FL; a sister, Linda S. Sellers (Kenny) of St. Augustine, FL; and several nieces, nephews, and dachshunds.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday, August 9 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be 4pm Saturday, August 10 in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bernard Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Curtis Rice, John Collins, Shelton Carver, Chip Dixon, Shelton Carver, Shiloh Carver, Chuck Carver, Billy Marchman, and Brian McClain.
