Girard, GA.- Sybil Daniel Long, 79, entered into rest Thursday, January 14th, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA. Born in Girard on June 22nd, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Albert Bruce Daniel and Annette Mobley Daniel. She was a teacher at several different schools in Waynesboro until she retired from Blakeney Elementary. Mrs. Long was a member of First United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, and DAR Edmund Burke Chapter. She enjoyed farming and raising quarter horses with her late husband, Frank E. Long, Jr. In addition to her parents, and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Miriam Daniel Zook, who was from Lincoln, Nebraska.
She is survived by her only child, Karen Long Corley, two grandchildren, Robert Mark Corley, Jr. (Lindsay), Kamra Ann Corley, and her great grandson, William Baylor Corley, all of Cleveland, TN.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 16th, 2010 at Burke Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro.
