She was preceded in death by a brother, James Merritt.
In addition to her parents of Fayetteville, GA, she is survived by her husband of 38 years, Mike Knight. She is also survived by 2 children, Nickie Knight Arbisi (Tim) of North Augusta, SC and Michael Knight (Liz) of St. Clair, GA.; 2 brothers, Thurston Merritt (Kathy) of Stockbridge, GA and Brian Merritt (Lesa) of Sharpsburg, GA; 3 grandchildren, Morgan Merritt Arbisi, Joseph Banks Knight, and Gavin Logue Arbisi; niece, Melissa Merritt; and nephew, Justin Rourk.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday, August 9 at the funeral home.
The funeral will be conducted at 11am Friday, August 10 at Brushy Creek Baptist Church (St. Clair Community). Rev. Scott McKinney will officiate. Interment will follow at the Knight Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gerald Meadows, Johnny Quattlebaum, Gary Richardson, Buddy Utley, Dee Humphrey, and Wayne Lanier.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ARDS foundation www.ardsil.com
