Waynesboro – Son Hae "Sunni" Allen, beloved wife of Frank Allen entered into eternal rest at her home on September 23, 2013 after an extended illness.
Sunni was born in Pusan, South Korea in 1958 and is survived by three brothers and two sisters and several nieces and nephews, all of whom reside in South Korea. In addition to her husband, her American family includes her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Montgomery of Waynesboro, two step-daughters, Ashley Buckley of Northern Virginia and Rhonda Clark of Knoxville, TN and four step-grandchildren, Michael and Kelsey Clark; Trace and Nataley Buckley.
Sunni graduated from Clayton County High School and attended college at Northwest Florida State University. She was an exceptionally gifted artist and leaves a host of magnificent paintings including award winning paintings from the Blackwater Art Review. She was an avid golfer and won several tournaments with the Augusta Korean Ladies Club. Her artistic talents began at a very early age and she was a fashion designer in Korea for several years prior to her marriage and move to the United States. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesboro and the Scrap Gresham Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, the 24th of September at the DeLoach-McKerley Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, the 28th of September at the First United Methodist Church in Waynesboro with the Reverend Craig Hutto officiating.
