Waynesboro, GA - Mr. Stephen W. Tidwell "Steve", 62, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on October 8, 1954 in Milledgeville, GA and has lived in Waynesboro most of his life. He was a loyal and dedicated employee of GA Power for over 40 years. Steve was an avid sports fan particularly when it came to the Braves or Bulldogs. Everyone in the neighborhood probably knew when they were playing because Steve would be outside grilling something and yelling for his beloved teams. He was preceded in death by his parents, Violet and Clay Kemp.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Bonnie Rhodes Tidwell; four children, Traci Tidwell of Palatka, FL, Clayton Tidwell of Waynesboro, Taylor-Page Tidwell of Waynesboro, and Clinton Tidwell "C.J." of Waynesboro; three grandchildren, Owen, Eli, and Cam; and a brother, Alan Kemp of Washington, GA.
Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Sunday, February 12 in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Coursey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Honorary Pallbearers will be current and former employees of Wallace Dam.
