Mr. Scott "Yank" Armstrong, 46, entered into rest Saturday, November 9, 2019, at his residence. Yank was born in Bethesda, Maryland on July 20, 1973 to James W. Armstrong III and Lynda Armstrong. He graduated from Crestview High School and New Castle School of Trades. Yank moved to this area in 1998 from New Waterford, Ohio. He began working with the Local Pipe Fitters Union in 2005 and was currently working with the Local Union 150 as a Welder. Along with his love for welding; he also had a passion for four wheeling, enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. Yank was a loving husband and father, and wonderful son. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Glen Johnson.
Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Kerin Armstrong: daughters, Paige Melton (Kyle) of Blythe, Kelli Fitzgerald of Richmond Hill; son, James Tyler McKenna of Waynesboro; granddaughter, Blakely Fitzgerald of Richmond Hill; parents, James William and Lynda Armstrong of New Waterford, OH; grandmother, Delores Johnson of Columbiana, OH; brother, Craig Armstrong of Salt Lake City, UT; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Thurman Norville officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the family home in Blythe.
