Girard, GA - Ruth Flakes, 72, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at her home.She was born on March 30, 1937 in Girard, Georgia to the late Jim Weeks and Estelle Perry Weeks.She was co/owner of Pork Place in Girard for 22 years.She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, and drawing.She was preceded in death by her four brothers, James Weeks, Jr., Johnny Weeks, Aaron Weeks, and Joel Weeks.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Flakes of Girard; three sons, Tony R. Flakes (Janice) of Millen, Ronnie M. Flakes (Kathy) of Waynesboro, and Jerry A. Flakes (Teresa) of Sardis; two daughters, Patricia Jarvis (David) of Swainsboro and Sharon K. Zipperer of Girard; one sister, Ruby Beasley of Sardis; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, at DeLoach Funeral Home, Waynesboro.

Funeral Services will be at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, August 21, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Girard, GA.Rev. Mike Jones will officiate.Interment will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Neal McClellan, Tony Flakes, Jr., Dwayne Flakes, Jessie Flakes, Brad Zipperer, and Adam Oglesby.Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Glisson, William Cox, Herbie Dixon, Bill Perry, and James Perry.

Flowers are being accepted.
