Waynesboro, Ga.- Russell Wilson, 52, suddenly entered into rest Saturday, April 25, 2009. He was born August 16, 1956 in Burke County to the late Waldo Wilson, Sr. and Fannie Laura Brinson Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a Truck Driver who had lived in this area all of his life. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Alexander, Ga. He was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Leiby.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda K. Wilson; son, James Russell Wilson (Christina), of Waynesboro; two daughters, Charlotte Hillis (Roger), of Alexander; Tonya Perkins (David), of Waynesboro; three brothers, Leonard Wilson, Sr. (Diane); Waldo Wilson, Jr. (Debra), both of Waynesboro; Randy Wilson, of Augusta; three sisters, Shirley Bell (Robert), of Sardis; Cornelia Edwards, of Savannah; Diane Shephard, of Dublin; eight grandchildren, Ashley, William, and Faith Hillis; Kassie, Autumn, and Duncan Perkins; Zachary, and Daniel Wilson, ten nephews, and nine nieces.
Visitation: 6-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 11am Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Church. Rev. Keith Jordan will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Tommy Ansley, Mickey Williams, Leonard Wilson, Jr., Ryan Deal, Clark Thomas, Randall Leiby, David, Derrick, Scott, and Joshua Wilson, and Jimmy Odom. The family and pallbearers are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 10:15 am
