Roy Keith Hood Iii

December 2, 1941 — January 5, 2021

Roy Keith Hood III, entered into rest Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at University Hospital. He was born in California to the late Vera Elizabeth and Roy Hood, Jr., was a resident of Burke County for many years, and most recently was a resident of McCormick, SC. He was a veteran of the US Airforce. He retired from USPS, where he served as the Burke County Postmaster for many years. Roy enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Deal Hood; his two sons and their families, Kenny Hood and his wife, Susan and their children, Zachary, Alastair, and Oliver and Keith Hood and his wife, Cinnamon and their children, Camille and Rosemary; a step-son and his family, Perry Brown and his children, Joseph Brown and Jennifer Parrish and her children, Matthew Parrish and Adalyn Parrish; a step-daughter and her family, Angela Humphreys and her children, Holden Humphreys and Heath Humphreys and his son, Sawyer Humphreys; a brother, Mike Hood; a sister, Barbara Hood Long and her husband, Robert; and the mother of his children, Donna Hood.

Services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an animal rescue of one's choice.
