Ronald Eugene "Gene" Ellison

Ronald Eugene “Gene” Ellison entered into rest on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at the age of 92. He was a son of the late Annie and Lovick Ellison and was a lifelong resident of Sardis. He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Gene was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Bozarth; son-in-law, Cecil Bozarth; a granddaughter, Amy Ellison; and a great granddaughter, Shaina Cates.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Eva Nell Ellison; eight children, Derrel Ellison (Elaine), Debra Royal (Charles), Delaine Russell (Bill), Darwin Ellison (Debra), Richard Ellison, Dean Ellison (Karen), Kevin Ellison (Gail) and Kelli Collins (Bruce); 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Tuesday, April 25 at Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Napier and Rev. Roy Cates officiating. Burial will follow at Jenkins Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Ellison, Cody Ellison, Joshua Russell, Jonathan Jones, Bert Burke, and Chris Nelson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Darrell Pierce, Mike Chandler, Greg Chandler, Daniel Thompson, and Dale Thompson.
