Robert Lewis “Bobby” Shaw, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on January 30, 2025. Born June 6, 1941, to Willy Lawton “Kitty” and Lillian Rountree Shaw, Bobby lived his life with a strong Christian faith and an equally strong commitment to his family, friends, and community. Bobby’s love for his hometown began at Waynesboro High School where he played on the 1957 State Football Championship team. He was well-known as a master carpenter and for his craftsmanship in cabinetry, furniture, and woodworking. Bobby was a talented vocalist and musician. He enjoyed sharing his gifts with his church, Burke Haven Chapel, as well as leading Young Life groups for many years. An avid outdoorsman, he was a founding member of the Pinetucky Gun Club where he was a championship skeet shooter. Above all else, Bobby found his greatest success and joy in his family, always present and always proud of his wife, children to include sons-in law, and grandchildren. Bobby’s quick wit and love for others will be missed by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his parents, Willy “Kitty” Lawton and Lillian Rountree Shaw; brother, Billy Shaw; and a son in law, Brent Cribb.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Patricia “Pat” Woodward Shaw: three daughters, Sheri (Tom) Ledbetter of Greenville, SC, Renee Cribb of Evans, GA and Michele (John) Sherman of Appling, GA: seven grandchildren, Katherine Anne (Dalton) Chester, Thomas (Ellison) Ledbetter, David Shaw, Sara Grace Cribb, Andrew (Rachel) Sherman, William Sherman, and Daniel Sherman: a great granddaughter, Virginia Katherine Chester: two brothers, Jerry (Jennifer) Shaw, Clyo, GA, and Chris Shaw, Keysville, GA.
