Richard "Rick" Wayne Dixon passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021. He had previously had open heart surgery, but could not overcome his last battle of fluid on the heart.

Rick returned to Girard after the passing of his brother, Robert "Bobby" Dixon. He was a caregiver to his parents, Jimmy and Joanne Dixon in their final days.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Dixon and Joanne Dixon of Girard, Georgia; and his brother, Bobby Dixon of Girard, Georgia.

He is survived by his sister, Joni Dixon Ferguson (Jeff) of Dallas, GA; nephews, Justin Dixon (Kimberly), Josh Ferguson (Rachel), James Dixon (Hilary); nieces, Jordyn Kerr (Ben), and Alyssa Dixon Bailey; and a large extended family.

Rick Dixon loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was sitting at the fire pit next to the pond and sharing laughs and stories.
