Rev. Yonce T. Lively

March 13, 1937 — December 18, 2008

Waynesboro, GA - Rev. Yonce Thaxter Lively, 71, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 18, 2008, at Heartland Hospice House, Augusta, after an extended illness.Born in Burke County on March 13, 1937, he was one of thirteen children born to the late James Thaxter Lively and Julia Verlinda Smith Lively.He served in the United States Army Reserve and was retired from International Paper.He was currently pastor of East Burke Baptist Church.Rev. Lively was the former pastor at Bethlehem Baptist Church.He was an active member of Burke County Jail Ministry, Sheriff's Prayer Breakfast, Yo Mart and T.J. Breakfast Clubs, and the Family Breakfast on Thursday mornings at the Lake Restaurant. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Lewis, Ashton, Q. U., Sr., Van, Sr., Keely, Hugh Miller, Sr.; and one sister, Evelyn L. Barefield.

He is survived by his daughter, BeLea Lynette Lively Davidson (George) of Augusta; and a very special friend, Frieda Summers of Augusta; five sisters, Juliette Dickey, Sevena Weis (Edward), Katy Bly Powell (Chester), all of Waynesboro, Attalee Wade of Ocala, FL, Octama Pool (Jimmy) of Columbia, SC; three sister-in-laws, Katherine Lively, Margie Lively, both of Waynesboro, and Margaret Brinson of Augusta; more than forty nieces and nephews; many great and great-great nieces and nephews as well as numerous cousins and other family members.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 20, 2008, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, December 21, 2008, at 2:30 p.m. at Botsford Baptist Church with Lee Glisson and Rev. Wayne Dixon officiating.Interment will follow at the church cemetery.Rev. Lively will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service at the church.Pallbearers will be Rev. Lively's nephews.
