Ralph E. Widner, Sr, 66, of Augusta, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday December 26, 2019 at his residence. He was born on January 30, 1953, in Waynesboro, to the late Willie L. (Bill) Oglesby and Doris Widener Oglesby. Ralph was the owner-operator of Augusta Engine. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His grandsons were the loves of his life. Ralph was a very dedicated Christian who exhibited a strong faith. He went on yearly mission trips to help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ; he started a bus ministry at his church to help ensure that people could get to church. Ralph had a heart for underprivileged children and fostered many of them over the years. He enjoyed fishing and working on his jeep. Ralph was a member of Canaan Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Thomas Widner; brother, Donnie Lee Oglesby; uncle, Wesley Oglesby.
Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Cynthia Widner of Augusta; sons, Ralph E. Widner, Jr of Augusta, Nathan Scott Widner (Summer) of Hephzibah, Christopher James Widner of Augusta, and Daniel Turner Widner of Easley, SC; daughter, Heaven Aylissa Taylor (Charles) of North Augusta, SC; grandsons, Derrick Henri Taylor and Oliver Lane Taylor both of North Augusta, SC; brother, Bobbie Dale Oglesby (Sally) of Girard; sisters, Wanda Oglesby Mobley of Vidalia, Gloria Oglesby Connor (Donald) of Sylvania, and Debbie Oglesby Johnson (Lee) of Augusta; sister-in-law, Toni Oglesby of Lenoir, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 31, from 11::00 AM until 12:00 PM, at Believers Gospel Chapel, 3565 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, GA, 30906. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM with Pastor Mike Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Girard.
Active pallbearers will be Kevin Mobley, Jason Connor, Kelly Pedigo, Taylor Johnson, Craig Hallman, and Dale Varner. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Gay and Ricky Winter.
