Phyllis Marie Drew, 79, entered into eternal rest on January 6, 2023, at her son Phillip’s residence. Phyllis was born November 4, 1943, in Swainsboro, GA to the late Warren Phillip Weddon and Susan Marie Parker Weddon. She was a long time resident of Waynesboro, having moved to the area in 1963. Phyllis was a lover of the Lord Jesus Christ, prayed often, and always looked at the brighter side of things. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who taught her family, by example, the values of hard work and compassionate caregiving. Phyllis was also a huge fan of Elvis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Douglas Drew; son, John Jordan Drew; and a brother, Wayne Phillip Weddon.
Surviving are her son, Phillip D. Drew (Andrea) of Evans; grandsons, Zachary M. Drew of Waynesboro, Parker D. Drew and Caleb M. Day both of Evans; granddaughters, Morgan J. Drew and Gracie A. Drew both of Evans; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at the Midville City Cemetery with the Reverend Pat Dye officiating.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Drew, Parker Drew, Dean Easler, Jeremy Johnson, Don Lambert, and Jonathan Redding.
