Mrs. Phoebe Butler Glisson, 81, affectionately known as "Nana", entered into rest on Monday, February 24, 2020, at her residence. Mrs. Glisson was a native and lifelong resident of Burke County. She graduated from Waynesboro High School. She was an active member of Rosemont Baptist Church, where she had served as the pianist, organist, led the youth choir and was active in Sunday school. She worked at the Bank of Waynesboro and the Burke County Service Center. Mrs. Phoebe was known to be one of the best cooks in Burke County and loved cooking for everyone!
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Robert F. "Bob" Glisson of Waynesboro; her sons, Robert F. "Bobby" Glisson, Jr. and wife Carla of Palacios, TX and William L. "Bill" Glisson and wife Betsy of Dublin; her grandchildren, Courtney Glisson, Devan Glisson, Macie Glisson Pierson, and William Robert "Will" Glisson; her great grandchildren, Sadie Glisson and Courtland Glisson; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, February 28, 2020, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will 11 a.m. Saturday, February 29, 2020, at the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Wes Lawson and Reverend Earl Saxon officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Jay Glisson, Jaylon Glisson, Will Glisson, Dustin Rowell, Chris Stewart, and Ray McClellan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Devan Glisson, Chris Mobley, Bill McWhorter, and Mickey Sears.
Remembrances may be made to the Rosemont Baptist Church Vision Fund.
