Waynesboro, GA-Mr. Philip H. Jockel, 65, entered into rest Monday, September 11, 2017. A native of Richmond County, he was born on September 18, 1951, to the late Howard and Lunita Jockel.He was a resident of Grovetown before moving to Burke County in 1996. He was a retired truck driver and an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed both hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Bobbie Jockel.
Surviving is his son, Dean Jockel and wife Angela of Waynesboro; his grandson, Connor Jockel of Waynesboro; a sister, Carol Spencer and husband Randy of North Carolina; and also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 14, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home.Graveside Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017, in Bellevue Memorial Gardens in Columbia County with the Reverend Mike Via officiating.
Active Pallbearers will be Jeff Moore, J.C. Christy, Larry Moore, Lenny Nobles, John Hamilton, and Daryl Lindsey.
