Perritt Landrum Rabun, Sr., 65, completed his earthly journey on Saturday, January 9, 2021. He was born on September 14, 1955, in Albany, GA to the late George and Agnes McElroy Rabun and was a lifelong resident of Burke County.

Perritt's education included technical training in electrical maintenance. His early employment included dispatcher for the Waynesboro Police Department and 15 years with Georgia Power as Plant Vogtle's Units 1 and 2 were being constructed. He was a QC Inspector before traveling to various assignments around the state.

The past 30 plus years he has operated a gamebird operation in Waynesboro, first with a good friend and partner and then as sole proprietor. Rabun Gamebirds grew quail and pheasant for land owners, dog trainers, field trials, and hunting preserves. He served clients across Georgia, the southeast, and as far as Indiana.

Perritt loved his work and his clients. He spent much time learning the art of growing top quality birds and worked with biologists to understand habitats and care. He enjoyed duck hunting, spending time with his dogs, and helping his clients. In everything Perritt did he loved his family and made sure he took care of them. He loved to talk and had a ready smile or laugh. He will be missed in ways we are only beginning to understand. He is a treasure to his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Carey Wayne Daniel.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Catherine Cates Rabun; two sons, Perritt Landrum Rabun, Jr. and Mark Daniel (Jessica); three grandsons, Peyton Rabun, Bryson Daniel, and Caleb Mobley; and a granddaughter, Kinsey Daniel.

Memorial Services will be held 6:00pm Friday, January 22 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Matt Wigley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Due to Covid-19, please practice all social distancing guidelines.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a charity of one's choice.
