Mr. Paul L. McNorrill, age 85, of Aiken, SC and formerly of Waynesboro, GA died Thursday, February 18, 2016 surrounded by his loving family with his grandchildren singing hymns of faith as he slipped off into eternity.
He was involved in church and community activities in Waynesboro and Aiken. Paul was a man of deep faith and served his Lord at Waynesboro First Baptist Church and Aiken First Baptist Church. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and was employed as a chemist and engineer at Savannah River Site for thirty five years until his retirement in 1994.
He was preceded in death by his parents, LaFayette "Fate" McNorrill and Edith Hatcher McNorrill, and infant twin daughters, Amy Carolyn McNorrill and Patricia Ann McNorrill.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Betty Carolyn Tanner McNorrill; son, Steven Paul McNorrill (Olivia Sanders) and their children, Victoria Elizabeth, Morgan Olivia, and Allen Paul McNorrill, all of Spartanburg, SC; son, David Tanner McNorrill (Ashley Cole) and their children, Cole Jeremiah and Fletcher Samuel McNorrill, all of Lexington, SC; daughter, Elizabeth McNorrill Waller (Alex) and their children, Sarah Elizabeth and Clayton Alexander Waller, all of Milton, GA; sister, Mary McNorrill Dykes (Maynor) of North Augusta, SC; a niece, Susanne Dykes, and a nephew, Austin Dykes, both of North Augusta, SC.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 22, at Burke Memorial Gardens on Highway 24 in Waynesboro. Reverend Lonnie McNorrill will officiate. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
