Patricia Becton Blount, 83, of Waynesboro, entered into rest Tuesday, May 9, 2017. She was born in Rocky Ford, raised in Herndon, and has been a resident of Waynesboro for the past 63 years. She was a member of Fairhaven United Methodist Church in Jenkins County and a member of the local Bridge Club in Waynesboro. Patricia was the bookkeeper for 28 years for Edmund Burke Academy. She was an avid Georgia Tech fan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah Frances Parker and Marion Ross Becton, Sr. and a brother, Marion Ross Becton, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James E. Blount; a son, Joe Blount (Gwen) of Conyers, GA; two daughters, Paulette Black (Randy) of Waynesboro and Pam Ivey (Frank) of Conyers, GA; six grandchildren, Amy Adams (Ryan), Emily Williams (Ryan), Allison Bodin (John), Bethany Blount, Will Blount, and Ben Blount; and four great grandchildren, Camryn, Brandon, Evan, and Logan.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am Thursday, May 11 in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Cason and Rev. Larry Bird officiating.Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ryan Adams, Ryan Williams, John Bodin, Will Blount, Ben Blount, and Phillip Blount. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
