Mrs. Pansy Abbott Agerton, 81, of Appling, GA went to be with the Lord April 4, 2013.She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesboro. Her life was filled with passion for family, friends, and food.After raising her children and teaching kindergarten, she opened Pansy's Pantry in Vidette.She was later recruited to run Pansy's at Queensborough in Louisville. Pansy eventually retired from cooking and catering, but continued to work as the food consultant at the Burke County Medical Center.Even though Pansy retired from her cooking career, she continued to passionately cook for friends and family and also published her own cookbook, Pansy's Collection, resulting in numerous printings.
One of Pansy's favorite pastimes was spending time with her friends, especially her traveling buddies and bridge buddies.And you could always find her in the evenings with her TV tuned to her beloved Atlanta Braves.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Agerton, son Trip Agerton (Judy), daughter Connie Agerton Rhodes (Joe Morris), grandchildren Lizzie Rhodes, Brad Agerton,AustinAgerton, Morgan Mewbourne, Matt Mewbourne, great granddaughterAlyssa Vickrey and brother Louis Abbott (Viola), and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial celebration of her life will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 2 PM preceded by visitation at 1 PM at DeLoach-McKerley Funeral Home, 842 N. Liberty Street, Waynesboro, GA with The Very Reverend Dr. Gary L. Abbott Sr. officiating. Friends may call at the residence of Connie Agerton Rhodes, 942 GA HWY 24 South, Waynesboro, GA.
Flowers are being accepted; however, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
