Mr. Otis Bennie Knight, Sr., 91, entered into rest Friday, October 27, 2017, the son of the late Baxley and Mable Mixon Knight. Mr. Knight was a native and lifelong resident of Burke County. He was a member of Green's Cut United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII. He worked at the Savannah River Site before retiring from the Augusta News Print. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed wood working, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Otis Bennie Knight, Jr.; and two sisters, Betty Knight Stewart and Marie Knight.
Surviving are his wife, Jo Knight of Waynesboro; his son, W.H. "Doc" Knight and wife Brenda of Glenwood. Ga.; his daughters, Cindy Knight White and husband Chuck and Beth Knight Bryan and husband Tommy both of Waynesboro; his daughter-in-law, Diane Knight Huff "Ken" ; his sister-in-law, Donna Boland; his grandchildren, Tanner Knight "Deborah", Ben Knight "Kay", Whitney Knight Hines "David", Joanna White Birrell "Tyson", Mary Alice White Jones "Brian", Laura White Quick "Patrick", Amie Bryan Elliott "Craig", Mallorie Bryan Morris "Mitchell", and Abbie Bryan; 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, October 30, 2017, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Green's Cut United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jerry Sharpe officiating.
Burial will be private.
The family would like to express a special appreciation to Estella Mack and Mae Powell for the excellent care they gave Mr. Otis.
