Waynesboro, GA- Otis Wesley Bailey, Sr., 82, entered into rest Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on December 11, 1933 to the late Thelma and Otis Bailey and was a lifetime resident of Burke County. Otis has been a member of Rosemont Baptist Church since 1973. He served on the Board of Deacons, taught the Clifton Fite Sunday School Class for many years, and served on many committees in the church. After 37 years of service, he retired from Yancey Brothers as a diesel mechanic.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen; four daughters, Linda Mims (Bobby) of Evans, Cynthia Corley of Evans, Virginia Jenkins of Waynesboro, and Sharon Pierson (Cole) of Waynesboro; a son, Otis Wesley Bailey, Jr. (Tonya) of Waynesboro; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce Clodfelter of Thomasville, NC.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday, April 14 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Friday, April 15 at Rosemont Baptist Church with Reverends Wes Lawson and Keith Alderman officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be active and inactive Deacons of Rosemont Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Vision Fund of Rosemont Baptist Church, 522 Hwy 25 North, Waynesboro, GA 30830.
