Norman A. Elliott, Jr., 57, entered into rest Monday, October 30, 2017. He was a native and lifelong resident of Burke County. He was a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church and former Trustee. Norman was a former Sardis City Councilman, serving as police commissioner. He was a former employee of SRS, Plant Vogtle, and farmed the family farm.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Juanita Elliott; a sister, Donna Kay Robinson; and brother-in-law, Mike Robinson;
Surviving are two nieces, Ginger Robinson Bridgers and husband Jay of Screven County, and Emily Robinson Oglesby and husband Bobby of Sardis; a nephew, Elliott Robinson and wife Rachael of Sardis; four aunts, Hazel Bennett of Sardis, Geraldine Stokes of Sardis, Jackie Boyles of Millen, and Bernice Reid of Augusta; an uncle, Thomas Cullen of Augusta; two aunts, Evelyn Elliott of Sardis and Elizabeth Elliott of Sardis; four great nephews, Jackson, Tyler, Grant, and Carter; one great niece, Molly Kay; and numerous cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm-8:00pm Thursday, November 2 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be 11:00am Friday, November 3 at Sardis United Methodist Church with Reverend Janet Odegaard and Reverend Steve Sirmons officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marks Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Chip Dixon, Al Smith, John Finley, Bobby DeLaigle, Charlie DeLaigle, Ricky Elliott, and Chris Cope.
Remembrances may be made to Sardis United Methodist Church.
