Nicholas "Nick" A. Griffin

Waynesboro, GA - Nicholas "Nick" A. Griffin, 89, entered into rest on Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Burke Medical Center.He was born on January 11, 1920 in Alabama to the late William Clayton Griffin and Thelma Massey Griffin.He retired as an engineer with Ingalls Iron Works and was a veteran of the United States Army.He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Inez Griffin, and his son, Nicholas Griffin.

He is survived by his son, Calvin Askew (Melody) of Kearneysville, WV; his daughters, Wanda Sanders of Waynesboro, Ga, Mona Askew of Orlando, Florida, Susan Askew (Kurt) of Gordon, Ga, Sharon Sallows (Jim) of Port Byron, Il, Linda Jonesof Alabama, and Faye Ervin of Alabama; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2009, at Burke Memorial Gardens with Jim Sallows officiating.Entombment will follow at the mausoleum.
