Waynesboro, GA - Myrtie Bell Barefield Rogers, 66, entered into rest Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at University Hospital.She was born in Screven County on March 2, 1942 to the late Charlie Boykin Barefield and Louise Bragg Royal.She was a homemaker and a member of Waynesboro Church of God.She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Gregory James, Sr., and a brother, Jerry Barefield.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Rogers; two sons, Donnie Royal (Cindy) and Douglas James, all of Waynesboro; a step-son, Michael Paul Rogers of North Augusta; two daughters, Brenda Edenfield (Troy) and Connie Williamson, all of Waynesboro; a step-daughter, Melinda Ann Watley (David) of North Augusta; nine grandchildren, Michelle Flakes, Lonnie Baxley, Jr., Michaela James, Michael James, Donnie Royal, Jr., Jennifer Salemi, Greg James, Jr., Beth James Miles and Chad Posey; four step-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2009, at the funeral home.

The family will also be receiving friends at the home of Brenda and Troy Edenfield at 1407 Herndon Road, Waynesboro.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2009, at Botsford Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Dixon officiating.Pallbearers will be Greg Coursey, Johnny Jenkins, Lonnie Baxley, Sr., Johnny Johnson, Raymond Edenfield, and Mark Quick.Interment will follow at Botsford Baptist Church Cemetery.
