Vidette, GA - Mrs. Anne Lorraine Bailey was called home by her Lord and Savior on August 3, 2010 at Brentwood Nursing Facility.She was born in Burke County on August 12, 1927 to the late Nettie McClellan Blount and Dillard Blount.Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, Jack Bailey who died in 1998 and a son, Michael Jack Bailey who died in 1982.She was a long-time member of the Vidette United Methodist Church and Sunday School.She will be long remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Lorraine is survived by a son, Steve Bailey and his wife, Donna, of Vidette; two daughters, Bobbie Mobley of Waynesboro and Connie Burgamy of Vidette; a brother, Wylie Dillard Blount of Eatonton, GA; five grandchildren, Bill Evans (April), Barbara Ann Hammett (Ashley), Valerie Walker, Luke Burgamy, and Jack Bailey; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at Vidette United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 6, with the Reverend Tip Carroll officiating.Interment will follow at Rose Dhu Cemetery.Pallbearers will be her three grandsons, Bill Evans IV, Luke Burgamy, and Jack Bailey; and Ashley Hammett, Albert Jordan, Mack Bailey, and Bill Bailey.Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Bailey, Larry Bailey, Bill Evans III, Melvin Mobley, Frank Agerton, and Dean Dailey.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 5, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
