Waynesboro, GA - Mr. Jack L. Sasser, 75, entered into rest Friday, August 29, 2008, at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta after a brief illness.He was born September 22, 1932 in Screven County to the late Rupert and Ruby Edenfield Sasser.Affectionately known as "Pa", Mr. Sasser was the owner of McKinney Concrete Service Company, Inc. for 46 years.He was an avid fisherman, who took pride in everything that he did, especially his work.Mr. Sasser will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and a friend to many.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Jimmy Sasser.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mrs. Debra Quick Sasser; two sons, Mike Sasser (Amy), Randy Sasser (Renee); daughter, Joy Rowell (Rusty); sister, Peggy Skinner (Willard); brother, Carlon Sasser (Pat), all of Waynesboro; 6 grandchildren, Daniel Sasser (Emily), Alan Sasser, Amy Sasser, Casey Sasser, Whitney Diehl (Adam), and Will Rowell; two great-grandchildren, Jack Thomas Sasser, and Halle Addison Sasser; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008, at DeLoach Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Friends may call at the home, 512 Victory Dr., Waynesboro.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2008, at Botsford Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Dixon officiating.Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens.Pallbearers will be Jimmy Johnson, Pat Johnson, Charlie DeLaigle, Tommy Rowell, Ted Perkins, Robert Williford, Rodney Braswell, and L. V. Jenkins.Honorary pallbearers will be employees of McKinney Wholesale.
